Recently, Apple has been shocked by complaints from users of several iPhone series that it heats up quickly or overheating. This problem is not only found on the older iPhone series, but also on the newest iPhone 15 series.
Following many complaints about problems overheating affecting iPhone 15 Pro models, Apple released the iOS 17.0.3 update to address this issue.
According to the company, the overheating was caused by software, not a hardware or design flaw. Apple also said they would not reduce the performance of the A17 Pro chip with the update.
The company argues that iPhones get hotter than usual when first setting up, restoring a backup, charging, or running intensive apps.
However, the company acknowledged that a software issue in iOS 17 caused the iPhone 15 models to suffer overheatingas quoted from 9to5MacMonday (9/10/2023).
At that time, the company told 9to5Mac that the update will not affect the performance of the A17 Pro chip, as some users are concerned that Apple is reducing the device’s performance so that the iPhone does not overheating.
