Jakarta (ANTARA News) – Information technology practitioner and founder of the coding skills teaching institute, Coding (Indonesia), Wahyudi, said that the existence of gadget devices would actually provide positive benefits for children, although of course there must be conditions that are met.

“It’s actually positive. There are lots of positive features in gadgets, now the only problem is that in the house the monitoring function must take place,” said Wahyudi when met in Jakarta, Thursday.

According to Wahyudi, so far he has often encountered comments from a number of parents who tend to react in surprise when they encounter the positive features of the applications and games contained in gadgets.

This may indicate that the function of monitoring gadget use in the parents’ home has not been implemented optimally.

“Many parents react ‘oh can you do that?’ when shown several positive features in the gadget,” he said.

Therefore, Wahyudi emphasized that he does not have any problems when he sees children actively playing with gadgets.

“Because we know that behind the function of gadgets for games there are also positive applications that can be utilized,” he said.

Wahyudi himself, together with Coding (Indonesia), was involved in a coding and application creation workshop held by PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia (SEIN) with 30 fifth grade students from Cikal School participating during 5-7 November 2014.
